Open Call: Söder Christmas Festival

For the third year, we’re bringing Christmas spirit and Julskyltningssöndag to Söder!

Throughout the day, the Christmas train will run between Sundstorget and Gustav Adolfs Torg, connecting the city’s festive squares. This year, we want to highlight even more of Söder’s community, solidarity, and togetherness.

Together with local organizations, creators, and associations, we’re creating a day filled with markets, food stalls, workshops, and activities that celebrate the neighborhood’s vibrant life.

The event is organized by Söderscen in collaboration with This is Helsingborg, Kulturrummet, Studiefrämjandet, and HBG City.

You can apply to one of the following categories:

  • Market – Exhibit or sell your products

  • Food Market – Sell food or drinks (no alcohol)

  • Workshops & Activities – Host a creative public activity

  • The Söder Christmas Market welcomes anyone who wants to contribute to the festive atmosphere at Gustav Adolfs Torg – regardless of experience.
    You can apply as:

    • An individual artist, craftsperson, or food vendor

    • A collective, organization, or association

    • A cultural performer or program contributor

    We welcome both new and established participants – as long as your idea fits the warm, inclusive spirit of the event.

    • 250 SEK for individual participants

    • 450 SEK for associations

    • Companies and food trucks: contact us before applying (fee 1500 SEK)

    • Workshops and stage performances participate free of charge

    • The fee is paid via Swish according to the instructions in your confirmation email.

  • The event takes place at Gustav Adolfs Torg on Sunday, November 30, 2025, during the city’s official Christmas opening.
    We will use the existing market tents on the square and add additional tents and a small stage for performances.

    You will receive:

    • A covered space (approx. 2 x 2 m)

    • One table (180 x 74 cm)

    • Two chairs

    You are responsible for setting up and decorating your own spot. Please consider how to best display your work, especially if you need height or wall space.

    • Setup: from 10:30 (latest 11:00)

    • Event time: 12:00–18:00

    • Takedown: not before 18:00

    • Closest bus stop: Gustav Adolfs Torg

    • Electricity: Available for food vendors (bring your own cables, min. 10 meters)

  • To ensure a safe and welcoming environment, the following rules apply. It is not allowed to:

    • Place items or products outside your assigned space

    • Use signs or decorations that disturb others

    • Play music without permission from the organizers

    • Block emergency exits or use open flames

    • Leave waste – you are responsible for removing all materials you bring.

    • Food vendors in particular: you are responsible for taking all your trash with you after the market.

    • Arrive late – if you are not on time, your spot may be given to someone else

    • You are responsible for your own items and products

    • Your space must be left in the same condition as you found it

    • Cancellations must be made in writing

    • Cancellations made less than 14 days before the event will not be refunded

    • If the event is canceled due to weather, we will first try to reschedule. If you are unable to participate on the new date, you will receive a full refund

    • As a private individual, you may sell goods tax-free up to 50,000 SEK per year. Please make sure your total annual sales do not exceed this amount

  • The program will be published through: Söderscen, This is Helsingborg, Kulturrummet, Studiefrämjandet, and HBG City.
    Participants will receive a shareable graphic that says “I’m taking part in Söder Christmas Market” – please share it on your social media and tag the organizers so we can repost it.
